Kunafa Nut Bars


Ingredients

Kunafa Layer

  • 50g ghee or butter

  • 250g kunafa

  • 150g condensed milk

  • 1 tbsp rose water

  • vanilla

Nut Layer

  • 25 g ghee or butter

  • 2 cups nuts (cashews, pistachios, almonds)

  • 80g condensed milk

  • 1/2 tbsp rose water

  • vanilla


Method

  • Line a 9 in square pan with baking paper.

  • In a pan over low heat, melt the ghee or butter.

  • Cut the kunafa using scissors into smaller pieces.

  • Add the kunafa and toast until golden.

  • Add the condensed milk, rose water, and vanilla and mix until combined.

  • Press the mixture into the lined pan.

  • In a pan over low heat, melt the ghee or butter.

  • Add the nuts and toast until slightly golden.

  • Add the condensed milk, rose water, and vanilla and mix until combined.

  • Press the mixture on top of the kunafa layer.

  • Allow to cool completely before slicing.
