Honey Cake


Ingredients

Cake

  • 50 g sugar

  • 100 g honey

  • 150 g butter

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 2 eggs

  • vanilla

  • 250 g flour

  • pinch of salt

Cream

  • 300 g whipping cream

  • 200 g caramelized sweetened condensed milk


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Line a sheet pan with baking paper.

  • In a saucepan, add the honey, sugar, and butter.

  • Once the butter melts, add the baking soda and mix for 2 minutes. Set aside to cool down.

  • Pour the mixture into a bowl and whisk in the eggs and vanilla.

  • Add the flour and salt.

  • Pour the batter into the sheet pan. Spread it thinly.

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes.

  • Cut the cake into 8 sections. Set aside any crumbs and excess pieces.

  • Whisk the whipping cream. Add the caramel.

  • Spread the cream on each layer and cover the sides.

  • Crumble up the excess pieces and dust the cake.

  • Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
