Hazelnut Tart
Rich and gooey brownie in a crust.
Ingredients
Crust
150g butter
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup ground hazelnuts
1 egg
1 3/4 cups flour
pinch of salt
Filling
1/4 cup ground hazelnuts
1 cup nutella
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Method
Crust
Beat butter and sugar until smooth.
Add the ground hazelnuts and egg, then flour and salt.
The dough is enough for two tarts. Split the dough in half, freeze one for next time and refrigerate one for 10-20 minutes.
Press onto the bottom of a tart pan with a removable bottom.
Dock with a fork and freeze for 20-30 minutes, until solid.
Filling
Meanwhile, melt the nutella and butter.
In a bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla, and sugar until fluffy.
Add in the nutella mixture. Mix in ground hazelnuts.
Bake
Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake the tart shell for 10-15 minutes.
Remove from oven and pour filling over crust and bake for another 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
