Hazelnut Tart

Rich and gooey brownie in a crust.


Ingredients

  • Crust

    150g butter

    1 cup powdered sugar

    3/4 cup ground hazelnuts

    1 egg

    1 3/4 cups flour

    pinch of salt

  • Filling

    1/4 cup ground hazelnuts

    1 cup nutella

    1/4 cup butter, melted

    2 eggs

    1/4 cup brown sugar

    1 tsp vanilla


Method

Crust

  • Beat butter and sugar until smooth.

  • Add the ground hazelnuts and egg, then flour and salt.

  • The dough is enough for two tarts. Split the dough in half, freeze one for next time and refrigerate one for 10-20 minutes.

  • Press onto the bottom of a tart pan with a removable bottom.

  • Dock with a fork and freeze for 20-30 minutes, until solid.

Filling

  • Meanwhile, melt the nutella and butter.

  • In a bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla, and sugar until fluffy.

  • Add in the nutella mixture. Mix in ground hazelnuts.

Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Bake the tart shell for 10-15 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and pour filling over crust and bake for another 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
