Fig Muhalabiya

The combination of the creamy texture of muhalabiya (a traditional milk pudding) with the rich sweetness of figs.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tbsp flour

  • vanilla

  • 2 tsp orange blossom water

  • 10 dried figs


Method

  • Very finely chop the figs and soak in hot water for 10-15 minutes.

  • In a pot, add the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and flour. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.

  • Drain the figs and add them to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add the vanilla and orange blossom water.

  • Divide the mixture into the serving bowls.

  • Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
