Date Granola Bars


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup oats

  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 25 g butter

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • vanilla

  • pinch of salt

  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

  • 15-20 dates, pitted and halved


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

  • Line a 12 in loaf pan with baking paper.

  • Add the oats and nuts on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes until golden.

  • In a saucepan, add the butter, brown sugar, honey, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla.

  • Cook until the sugar has dissolved.

  • In a bowl, mix the toasted oats and nuts with the honey mixture.

  • Place the mixture into the prepared pan and press firmly.

  • Bake for 10 minutes.

  • Remove from the oven and add the dates on top pressing firmly.

  • Refrigerate for an hour.

  • Slice and enjoy! Store at room temperature.
