Date Cake
Ingredients

50 g butter, browned
200 g dates
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Cake
50 g butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
vanilla
1 egg
1/3 cup water
1 cup flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
Method
Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F. Line a 9 in cake pan with baking paper.
In a saucepan, melt the butter until the fat has browned.
Add the cinnamon and dates. Add the mixture in the pan.
Whisk the butter and sugar.
Add the egg and vanilla.
Add the water, flour, and baking powder. Pour the mixture over the topping.
Bake for 30 minutes.
