Belgian Liege Waffles
Ingredients
1/3 cup warm milk
1 1/2 tsp instant dry yeast
1 tbsp brown sugar
100 g butter, melted
2 eggs
1 2/3 cups flour
vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (100 g) crushed sugar cubes
Method
Mix the milk, yeast, and sugar. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Add the butter and eggs into the yeast mixture.
Add in the flour, vanilla, and salt. Mix until smooth for 2-3 minutes.
Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
Roughly crush the sugar cubes and add them into the dough. Cover and allow to rest for 20 minutes.
Preheat the waffle iron. Coat the waffle iron with butter and scoop (1/4 cup) the batter into the center.
Cook for 4-5 minutes.
Butter the iron in between each waffle. Enjoy warm.
