Baklava

A healthier -and lighter- version of the traditional baklava!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp cardamom 

  • 1 tbsp rose water

  • 1 cup pistachio 

  • 30 g butter, melted

  • 2 sheets of filo pastry

  • 1/2 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup water


Method

  • In a food processor, grind the pistachios. Add the rose water and cardamom.

  • Brush a pan with melted butter.

  • Lay a sheet of filo then add the pistachio mixture on top. Roll it into a log.

  • Cut the log into 16 pieces. Place it in the pan.

  • Spread more butter on top of the pieces.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

  • In a pan, boil the honey and water.

  • Pour the syrup on top of the baklava.
