Apple Slices
Ingredients
Dough
2 cups flour
pinch of salt
150 g butter, cold
1 egg
vanilla
3 tbsp water, cold
Filling
1/3 brown sugar
2 tbsp flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
6 apples, peeled and sliced
Glaze
60 g browned butter
1 cup powdered sugar
vanilla
1 tbsp water
Method
In a food processor, add the flour, salt, and butter. Pulse until coarse.
Add the egg, water, and vanilla. Pulse until just combined.
Cut the dough in half. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F.
In a bowl, add the sugar, salt, flour, cinnamon, and vanilla. Add the apples and mix to combine.
Roll one disc of dough to the size of a 9*13” sheet pan. Place it onto the sheet pan.
Add the filling. Refrigerate.
Roll the other disc and place it on the filling. Pinch the bottom crust and top crust to seal.
Prick the top with a fork.
Bake for 45 minutes until golden.
In a saucepan, add the butter and allow the milk solids to brown.
In a bowl, mix the sugar, vanilla, water, and butter.
Pour over the baked apple pie.
Allow to cool completely before slicing.
