Maamoul
A quicker version of the buttery shortbread filled with dates.
Ingredients
Dough
200 g butter
4 pieces kiri cheese
1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup powdered milk
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Filling
400g pitted dates
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Method
In a food processor, mix the butter, sugar, kiri, and powdered milk.
Add flour and mix. Chill the dough.
Meanwhile, mix the dates with cardamom and cinnamon in a food processor.
Take an amount of dough and stuff it with a mixture of dates and roll into balls. Place it in the maamoul tool and press.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for 20 minutes.
