Kuwaiti Ghuraiyba

Simple, crumbly, and melts-in-your-mouth.


Ingredients

Yield: Makes about 36 pieces.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup gram flour

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 125 g (1/2 cup) butter, softened

  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom

  • vanilla


Method

  • In a pan, brown the gram flour over low heat until it becomes golden.

  • Sift the gram flour with the all-purpose flour.

  • Mix the butter, powdered sugar, cardamom, and vanilla until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  • Gently mix in the flours until the ingredients are combined.

  • Shape the dough into balls using 1/2 tablespoon of dough per ball.

  • Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Press the balls lightly on top.

  • Refrigerate the ghuraiyba for 20 minutes.

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C/300°F. Bake for 10 minutes.
