Filo Flowers


Ingredients

  • 4 sheets filo dough

  • 30 g butter, melted

  • ground pistachios

Syrup

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 tbsp water

  • orange peel

  • 1/8 tsp orange blossom water


Method

  • To make the syrup, in a saucepan, place the sugar, water, and orange peel.

  • Once the sugar dissolves, remove the orange peel.

  • Add the orange blossom water. Set aside.

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

  • Butter in between every four sheets of filo.

  • Cut the filo into 16 squares.

  • Fold the squares inwards tightly in a circle shape.

  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

  • Butter them on top before baking for 15 min until golden.

  • Pour the syrup on the filo flowers and top with pistachios.
