Dark Chocolate Tart

For all the dark chocolate lovers out there! Rich, creamy, and chocolatey.


Ingredients

  • Base:

    300g oreos

    50g dark chocolate

    50g butter, softened

    pinch of salt

  • Filling:

    100g dark chocolate 

    25g cornflour

    4 tbsp milk

    500ml whipping cream

    50g cocoa powder, sifted

    1 tsp instant coffee

    100g sugar

    1 tsp vanilla

    2 tsp olive oil

    pinch of salt


Method

Base

  • In a food processor, add the oreos and dark chocolate and blitz.

  • Add the butter and salt and blitz again.

  • Press into a 9 inch tart tin and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

Filling

  • In a saucepan, add the cream, cocoa powder, coffee, vanilla, olive oil, and salt.

  • Place over a medium to low heat and whisk gently until the chocolate melts.

  • In a bowl, mix the milk and cornflour. Whisk it into the chocolate mixture and place the saucepan on low heat. Stir until the mixture thickens.

  • Pour into a measuring jug and cover with plastic wrap (allowing it to touch the mixture). Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

  • Pour the refrigerated mixture on the prepared tart.

  • Refrigerate before serving.
