Cinnamon Rolls
This recipe reminds me of Cinnabon’s rolls, a must try!
Ingredients
Dough:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup warm milk
2 tsp dry yeast
4 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
60 g butter
Filing:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tbsp cinnamon powder
150 g butter, cubed
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
Frosting:
200 g cream cheese
1/2 cup icing sugar
4 tbsp milk
1 tbsp vanilla
Method
In a bowl, mix the yeast, sugar and milk. Cover and set a side for 10 mins in a warm place till bubbles appear.
In a mixing bowl, fitted with a hook attachment, place the flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and milk mixture.
Mix for 5-6 mins on medium speed till the dough is smooth.
Place it in a greased bowl, cover and proof for an hour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.
Sprinkle flour on a clean surface. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread the cinnamon, then sprinkle the brown sugar evenly and scatter the butter. Add the pecans.
Roll the dough like a log. Cut into slices and place it into a buttered baking dish.
Bake for 30 to 35 mins.
Prepare the frosting by mixing all the ingredients together.
Allow the rolls to cool for 5 mins, then spread the cream cheese frosting.
