Chocolate Icecream
Delicious, rich, and creamy recipe that would make me favor it over vanilla any day!
Ingredients
2 cups whipping cream
1 cup milk
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar
200g milk chocolate
100g dark chocolate
vanilla
pinch of salt
Method
Whisk the yolks, vanilla, and sugar until thickened.
Heat the milk and cream in saucepan over medium heat.
Chop the chocolate and add it into the saucepan stirring constantly until combined.
Gradually add the warm cream in the egg mixture and whisk.
Return the mixture to the same saucepan; cook until thickened (it should reach 80°C), stirring constantly.
Strain the mixture into a bowl and cool it down in a water bath before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.
Turn the icecream maker, mixing on low speed; pour the cold mixture. Continue to stir for 20 - 30 minutes.
Transfer the ice cream to a container. Freeze overnight.
