Chocolate Icecream

Delicious, rich, and creamy recipe that would make me favor it over vanilla any day!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whipping cream

  • 1 cup milk

  • 4 egg yolks

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 200g milk chocolate

  • 100g dark chocolate

  • vanilla

  • pinch of salt


Method

  • Whisk the yolks, vanilla, and sugar until thickened.

  • Heat the milk and cream in saucepan over medium heat.

  • Chop the chocolate and add it into the saucepan stirring constantly until combined.

  • Gradually add the warm cream in the egg mixture and whisk.

  • Return the mixture to the same saucepan; cook until thickened (it should reach 80°C), stirring constantly.

  • Strain the mixture into a bowl and cool it down in a water bath before refrigerating for at least 4 hours.

  • Turn the icecream maker, mixing on low speed; pour the cold mixture. Continue to stir for 20 - 30 minutes.

  • Transfer the ice cream to a container. Freeze overnight.
