Banana Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
Cake
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg
vanilla
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup hot water
Topping
50 g butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1-2 bananas, sliced
Nutella
Powdered Sugar
Pistachios
Note: buttermilk substitute:
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tbsp vinegar
allow it to sit for 5 min before using
Method
In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
Stir in the egg, vanilla, oil, and buttermilk. Slowly pour the hot water and stir.
In a 9 in nonstick pan, add the butter and brown sugar. Allow it to melt.
Stir in the cinnamon. Place the sliced bananas on top.
If you are not using a nonstick pan, butter it. Carefully pour the cake mixture on top.
Cover the pan and allow it to cook for around 30 min on low heat on the smallest stovetop.
Allow it to cool completely before flipping it.
Top it with Nutella, powdered sugar, and pistachios.
