French Apple Cake
Unlike other apple cakes this classic relies on the buttery cake dough and chunks of apples, so no crumble, topping, spice, or glaze.
I also suggest using small apples and the combination of red and green.
Ingredients
3/4 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
vanilla
3 tbsp milk
100g butter, melted and cooled
4 apples (2 red & 2 green)
Method
Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Butter and line a springform pan with baking paper.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
Whisk the eggs, vanilla, and sugar until foamy.
Add half of the dry mixture and combine, the butter, then the rest of the dry mixture.
Peel, core, and chop the apples into cubes.
Fold into the batter.
Pour into the prepared pan. Bake for 45-50 min.
