Date Crumble

A delicious and comforting dessert featuring a toasted date layer topped with a buttery, crumbly topping. Perfect for serving warm with a scoop of ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates

  • 30 g butter

Crumble

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • 1 tbsp milk powder

  • 45 g butter

  • Pinch of salt

  • 2 tbsp sliced almonds


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

  • In a pan, brown the flour until toasted stirring constantly. Transfer to a bowl and set aside to cool.

  • In a pan, add the dates and butter. Cook until the dates have slightly softened and browned.

  • Spread the dates on a 9*6 inch baking dish.

  • Add the milk powder, butter, and salt to the cooled flour. Rub the mixture together until it becomes crumbly.

  • Mix in the sliced almonds.

  • Add the crumble on the dates.

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.

  • Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.
