Brown Butter Peach Cake


Ingredients

Topping

  • 50 grams butter, browned

  • 1/3  cup brown sugar

  • 1-2 peaches

Cake

  • 50 g butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • vanilla

  • 1 egg

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/2 tbsp baking powder


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C. Butter and line a round 9 in pan with baking paper.

  • Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla.

  • Mix in the flour, baking powder, and water.

  • In a saucepan, brown the butter and mix in the brown sugar. Pour over the prepared pan.

  • Slice the peaches and place them on the prepared topping.

  • Pour the cake batter on top of the sliced peaches.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes before flipping and serving.
