Apple Oat Cobbler

A warm and comforting dessert that combines tender, baked apples with a hearty crispy oat topping. Best served with ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 600 g cubed apples

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Oat Batter

  • 150 g butter

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

  • 1 1/3 cup rolled oats

  • 2/3 cup flour   

  • 1 tsp baking powder


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F.

  • In a bowl, add the apples, corn starch, sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until combined.

  • Add the apples into a 10-inch baking dish.

  • In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat. Stir until the fat turns brown.

  • In a bowl, mix the browned butter, sugar, brown sugar, cream, oats, flour, and baking powder.

  • Spread the mixture over the apples.

  • Bake for 40-45 mintues.

  • Serve with ice cream.
